Gyumri’s Church of St. Nikolai the Miraculous being reconstructed

GYUMRI, MARCH 24, ARMENPRESS: Gyumri’s Church of St. Nikolai the Miraculous is in a reconstruction process. The works are funded by “A Matter of Honor” Russian-Armenian charitable organization, with the support of which Gyumri’s “Hill of Honor” graveyard is also being restored and a memorial complex is being constructed.

Michael Poghosyan, head of the organization implementing the construction works of the church told Armenpress that the church which was built in 1887 will be restored preserving the former look. Despite the uninterrupted work, the church had been never reconstructed, because of which it needed urgent repair.

Besides the inner furnishing and restoration works of the church, the roof will also be fortified, which will have the same look after the reconstruction, too and will remain tin-covered.

The works are intended to accomplish till the start of the events dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the victory taken in Great Patriotic War.
