Transport and Communication Minister visits Syunik

KAPAN, MARCH 11, ARMENPRESS: On February 10, Armenian Transport and Communication Minister Gurgen Sargsyan paid a visit to Syunik. The minister together with the employees of the ministry, Syunik governor and province responsible authorities of the sphere was in 253 km segment of Yerevan-Meghri inter-state road collapsed as a result of slide on the eve, got acquainted with the created situation and discussed variants of getting out from it.

It was decided that during the upcoming ten days a geological study will be carried out, after the conclusion of which it will become clear whether it will be possible to repair the same road, or it will be necessary to construct a road passing round that one.

And before that, Head of the Urban Development and Transport Department Arshak Ustapashyan said that land works are being carried out in the place of the accident, a temporary road is being expanded, which makes possible the traffic of lorries, too.

But the nearly 20 m segment of that road is still dangerous. Traffic signs are placed here, thanks to which the movement of cars is regulated.
