Belarusian Ambassador to Armenia visits Tavush province

IJEVAN, MARCH 10, ARMENPRESS: Belarusian Ambassador to Armenia Stepan Sukharenko visited on March 9 the province of Tavush. Governor Armen Ghularyan presented to the ambassador the province of Tavush together with the occupied position, communities, economy, development prospects and historical-cultural monuments.

S. Sukharenko stated that Belarusia has a program on developing relations with Armenia, and made a proposal of establishing friendship with Vitebsk province within its frameworks.

A. Ghularyan welcomed similar proposal pointing out that Tavush already has similar experience with the regions of other countries and is happy to start cooperation with Belarusia. Prospects of establishing ties on the level of the towns of the two provinces were discussed.

Afterward the Belarusian ambassador and Tavush governor met with those veterans from Tavush, who during fought in Belarusian fronts World War II.

Welcoming them, S. Sukharenko noted that the victory taken 65 years ago was a result of unification of all the soviet states. The ambassador handed “65 years of the liberation of Belarus” medals and presents to veterans.
