The author of 5 projects is the “Armenian State Project” institute; the others are different project organizations. Though all the variants include different architectural solutions, they have ideological community and present a model of scientific, educational and sport small and medium-sized entrepreneurship. The incubator models will be united around a larger center. The overall surface of the techno town will occupy 50 hectares area.
Gyumri Mayor Vardan Ghukasyan told Armenpress that the concept of the Armenian government of turning Gyumri into Techno town will promote the coordinated development of the spheres of scientific education and business, to which the operating free economic zones will contribute. Free economic zones will be created in three areas of the town.
The same areas of the town are used in almost all the projects: the territory of the former pedagogical institute will serve as an educational complex, the territory of the former engineering university as a scientific center, “Kumayr” reserve as a tourism zone and the territory of the airport as a free economic zone.
The municipality will make the selection of the project till March 9.
