KAPAN, MARCH 4, ARMENPRESS: Repair works of the medical establishments are going on in the province of Syunik. An official from the Healthcare and Social Ensuring Department of the governor office told Armenpress that repair works of 26, 2 million AMD were implemented last year in the medical establishments of the province through self-funding.
Twenty-six medical points and rural ambulatories of the province have been repaired and furnished with the financial support of “Reforms of Primary Health Care” program of the U.S. Agency for International Development. The investments made 73, 3 million AMD. The construction of a cardiology center started last year in Gyumri and is still in process. About 413 million AMD will be invested for the latter.
The construction of a primary healthcare center of Tegh village, as well as the repair works of the medical center of Tatev village kicked off in 2009 within the frameworks of the loan program of the Armenian Healthcare Ministry’s office on implementing programs.
On the whole, investment of about 220 thousand USD will be implemented. The repair of the sub-building of the hospital of the medical center of Goris started in 2009 as well, and a new three-storey building will be constructed next to the hospital. The investments directed toward construction works will make about 1 million 913 thousand USD. The center will also be ensured with medical equipments and furniture within the frameworks of about 571 thousand USD.
