ARTASHAT, FEBRUARY 26, ARMENPRESS: Twenty-eight gas-producing anti-hail stations are intended to be placed this year in the communities of Ararat province situated near the border. Head of the Agriculture Department of the working staff of Ararat governor office Haykaz Terteryan told Armenpress that the choice of placing the stations is conditioned by the circumstance that the hail clouds threat agriculture especially in those parts of the province.
“Taking into consideration the fact that Ararat province is in a boundary zone, we cannot use aviation and rocket-shells, the efficiency and risk of which are high, but we will use gas-producing anti-hail stations, the efficiency of which is high, but the risk is low,” he said. The above-mentioned system will protect agriculture of the province not only against hail, but will smooth the possible pouring rains and snowstorm as well. One rocket sent to the sky for blowing away the clouds, will protect arable area of 80 hectares.
The gas-producing anti-hail stations are produced by the Argentinean “Sapoi” company, and will be placed at the expense of the Armenian state budget. Last year 12 anti-hail stations were placed in Ararat province.
