Indian Ambassador to Armenia visited “Galik” educational establishment of Ijevan

IJEVAN, FEBRUARY 16, ARMENPRESS: Indian Ambassador to Armenia Ashok Kumar Malhotra visited on February 15 the “Galik” educational establishment of Ijevan. This was his second visit to the educational establishment. According to Director of “Galik” Arsen Bayramyan, this visit is also symbolic, as seven years ago the same day the start of the cooperation of the educational establishment and Indian Embassy in Armenia was marked. A. Malhotra is the third Indian ambassador that establishes a friendly tie with “Galik”.
The ambassador got acquainted with the conditions of the auditorium of teaching the Indian language, where an open class was being conducted at the moment. The students presented Indian dancing, reciting and a theatrical performance in Indian.
A. Kumar Malhotra said that Armenian juniors speak Indian quite well. “I am very happy that students learn Indian in Ijevan. As you know, the knowledge of the language of any country helps human communication, and I am sure that these children will contribute to strengthening the Armenian-Indian relations in future,” he noted. According to the ambassador, those who will wish to study Indian more thoroughly will get an opportunity of leaving for India within the frameworks of an educational program and of getting education there.
Several foreign languages (English, French, Italian, Spanish, Persian, Ukrainian, Portuguese, etc) are taught in “Galik” simultaneously with a number of specialties.
The ambassador told Armenpress that an excellence center for Armenian-Indian information technologies is intended to open in Armenia by the end of the year, where high-class specialists of computer sphere will study.
In regard to the influence of the global economic crisis on India, the ambassador said that the country has managed to maintain its positions registering an economic growth of 6, 5 % as well as thanks to the well-developed banking system and large inner market. One of the causes of resisting the crisis, according to A. Kumar Malhotra, was the well-organized financial policy and management.
