Magomedsalam Magomedov elected as Dagestan president

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 10, ARMENPRESS. Doctor of Economic Sciences Magomedsalam Magomedov was elected as Dagestan’s president on Wednesday.
The Dagestani People’s Assembly vested Magomedov with the republican presidential powers.
Magomedov will replace Mukhu Aliyev, who had headed the republic since February 2006.
On February 8, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev nominated Magomedsalam Magomedov as a candidate for president of the republic to be considered at the Dagestani People’s Assembly.
Magomedsalam Magomedov was born in Dagestan in 1964. He is the son of the former republican president Magomedali Magomedov. In 2006-2007 he occupied the post of the chairman of the Dagestani People’s Assembly.
