Repair works of 355 million Drams carried out in 2009 in the healthcare institutions of Ararat

ARTASHAT, FEBRUARY 5, ARMENPRESS: Repair works of 355 million Drams have been carried out in 2009 in the healthcare institutions of the province of Ararat. An official from the Healthcare and Social Insurance Board of Ararat governor office told Armenpress that the 5 medical ambulatories of the province have been repaired by the investment program of the World Bank. Two hundred thirty million Drams has been provided to the construction works of “Ararat” medical center. The repair of “Artashat” medical center with the cost of 340 million Drams and suspended last year will be brought to an end in 2012.
According to the mentioned source, the material-technical basis of the healthcare institutions of the province is in poor conditions, too. The hospitals and policlinics today badly need medical and diagnosis up-to-date equipments and inventory, while rural ambulatories need repairing.
For improving the medical service and reducing the flow of patients to Yerevan clinics, today there is also a great necessity of establishing a department of long-lasting care with 30 beds on the basis of the hospital, as well as a center of dialyze with 10 beds and equipped with up-to-date medical equipments.
The medical service of the province population is implemented by 4 medical centers, one maternity hospital, one health center, 49 rural ambulatories and 44 medical-obstetrical points attached to the latter. The healthcare institutions of the province have a medicine debt of 15, 0 million AMD. Last year 12 thousand 365 patients received a stationary medical aid in the medical institutions of the province, 11 thousand 190 people received treatment for free.
The number of the attendances to ambulatory-policlinic institutions on medical-prophylactic purpose has made 952 thousand 196, which is more than the visits of 2008 by 373. One resident has attended an ambulatory-policlinic institution 3-4 times averagely.
