World Bank-funded road-construction of about 3,8 billion AMD implemented in Syunik

KAPAN, JANURAY 13, ARMENPRESS: Last year World Bank funded a 3.8 billion AMD road-construction work in Syunik. About 31.8 km-long roads were thoroughly reconstructed, especially those ones leading to regional communities (last time they were reconstructed many years ago). Arshak Ustabashyan, head of Urban Development and Transport Department of the Governor’s Office, informed Armenpress that the roads were reconstructed mainly in Meghri district for about 1.9 milliard AMD. The roads leading to Shvanidzor, Alvanq, Txkut, Vahravar, Kuris and Gudemnnis districts were asphalted. World Bank also financed reconstruction of the 15 km-long roads of Kapan-Gexi, Sisian-Brnakot in 2009. Road-construction will continue in the current year as well.
