NA speaker had meetings in Seul and Jejju state

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 4, ARMENPRESS:The official delegation headed by Armenian National Assembly Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan met today with Chairman of Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) Pak De Uni. Media and Information department of the National Assembly told Armenpress that welcoming the guests Mr. Pak De UN noted that it is a great honor for them to host RA NA speaker and expressed hope that the visit will greatly contribute to the strengthening of Armenia-Korea developing cooperation. Armenian National Assembly Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan attached importance to the agency’s activity, which being founded in 1991 implements technical cooperation projects in developing countries. NA Speaker expressed an opinion that for every developing country, including Armenia it is of great importance to study the experience of the South Korea, as the latter being one of the poorest countries of the world currently is ranged among the economically most developed states. He attached importance also to the support, which the agency displays in the process of sharing the above- mentioned Korean experience and to the programs, which are implemented in Armenia with its support. On the same day the NA delegation met with the members of the Korea-Armenia friendship delegation team. NA Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan attached importance to the activity of the parliament teams of friendship in activating the inter-parliamentary cooperation, developing a parliamentary diplomacy and in deepening the cooperation in international parliamentary institutions. In this context he attributed importance to the organization of mutual visits, experience exchange and cooperation in all directions. Team’s leader Pak Ji Von considered the memorandum of inter-parliamentary cooperation signed on the eve quite an important step in developing and deepening the relations of the legislative bodies. He thoroughly presented to his partners arrived from Armenia the parliamentary staff of the South Korea, its structure, activity, the political forces presented in the National Assembly. Cooperation prospects and other issues presenting bilateral interest were discussed during the meeting as well. The same day the delegation headed by Armenian National Assembly Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan left for South Korea’s Jejju state, where Jejju Governor Yang Jo Hun welcomed the Armenian parliament members. During the meeting the governor presented the guests the history of the state, the system of the formation of local self-governing bodies, economy, etc. RA NA Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan attached importance to Armenian-Korean cooperation on the level of local self-governing bodies as well, which can promote the development of inter-state relations.
