Contemporary Bulgarian music concert entitled “Armenia-Bulgaria: Musical Bridges” to be held in Komitas Chamber Music Hall

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 6, ARMENPRESS:A concert on the contemporary Bulgarian music entitled “Armenia-Bulgaria: Musical Bridges” will take place today in Komitas Chamber Music Hall. The concert will be conducted within the framework of “Return Festival” program. The honorary guests of the concert are the President of the Union of Bulgarian Composers Veislav Zaimov and composer Jordan Goshev. Eight works will sound at the evening with the performance of V. Zaimov, J. Goshev, A. Diamandiev, A. Poturlyan, P. Stoykov, I. Dmitrov, P. Stoyanov and M. Danev. President of the Armenian Music Forum, composer Levon Chaushyan noted at today’s meeting with journalists that the cultural ties between the Armenian and Bulgarian composers have initiated since 1961, when the prominent representatives of the Bulgarian culture arrived in Armenia. “Though that cooperation reached a deadlock for some period of `time` for some reasons, but thanks to the steps undertaken by the Armenian Culture Ministry, the cultural cooperation existing between our countries recovered this year, and we left for Sofia on June 15 with concerts. “I consider that day the second birthday of the establishment of our friendly relations”, L. Chaushyan said. According to V. Zaimov, Armenia and Bulgaria have a lot of similarities; that is why Bulgaria feels at ease in Armenia. Referring to the contemporary Bulgarian music V. Zaimov noted that currently it is not assessed in Bulgaria very much. The reason, according to him, is the policy assumed by the Bulgarian Culture Ministry. “In the recent years the art does not deserve attention in our country, there is no financing, and the art figures are not provided halls. We do everything through our efforts and means”, the president of the Union of Bulgarian Composers said. He expressed hope that the situation will soon be improved and Bulgaria will again turn into a country, where culture is ranged beyond everything. The “Return Festival” has kicked off from September 22 and will last till October 24. It is conducted under the high patronage of RA First Lady Rita Sargsyan.
