A SUN POWER PLANT WITH ARMENIAN TECHNOLOGIES INTENDED TO BE CONSTRUCTED IN SYRIA

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 7, ARMENPRESS:The Syrian delegation members, who are in Armenia, today had a meeting with the representatives of RA Trade-Industrial Chamber. Syrian Economy and Trade Minister Amer Hosny Lutf, Syrian Charge d’ affaires to Armenia Abd al- Hamid Sallum, Syrian Energy Minister Abd al-Halim Kasem, other state officials and businessmen are included in the delegation. Vice-chairman of RA Trade-Industrial Chamber Aram Vardanyan discussed with the Syrian partners the present state of practical relations between the two countries, issues and things to be done. The both sides mentioned that there are quite serious prospects of extending the current small volumes of trade turnover between Armenia and Syria. A. Vardanyan noted that in the last two years the representatives of the Palace have been to Syria for several `time`s, have got acquainted with the process of a number of projects being implemented there. He expressed his gratification especially on the support to small and medium-sized enterprises of that country. A.Vardanyan, who is also the director of “Viaspher” techno-park, offered his Syrian partners to pay more serious attention to the project of constructing a sun photo-volt electric station of 5 MVT power with Armenian technologies. The industrial zone named Sheikh Najari located in the suburbs of Aleppo has been initially selected as a place for its construction. Armenia can ensure till 40% efficiency in case of receiving energy power from the sun and will also ensure their installing. A. Vardanyan considers it a guarantee for success, that in Syria 100 days in a year and 10 hours in a day are sunny. The sides reached an agreement to discuss the joint projects more carefully and to give a new impetus to the Armenian-Syrian cooperation.
