ARMENIAN BARITONE WINS GOLD MEDAL OF PAVEL LISITSIAN COMPETITION

MOSCOW, FEBRUARY 8, ARMENPRESS:An Armenian baritone singer Gevork Hakobian was awarded the gold medal of thebfirst international competition in Moscow dedicated to famous baritone opera singer Pavel Lisitsian. The Grand Prix was awarded to Roman Burdenko of Russia. Liam Bonner of the USA was also awarded gold medal. Thirty-seven singers from 13 countries participated in the first and second rounds of the competition. Pavel Lisitsian was an outstanding Soviet baritone opera singer of Armenian descent who performed in the Bolshoi Opera, Moscow from 1940 until his retirement from stage in 1966.
