PROGRAM OF IMPROVEMENT OF “MILLENNIUM CHALLENGES” CORPORATION’S ASSESSMENT INDICATOR PRESENTED TO ARMENIAN GOVERNMENT FOR APPROVAL

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 23, ARMENPRESS:Program of improvement of “Millennium Challenges” corporation’s assessment indicator has been presented for the approval to the Armenian government. Armenian Minister of Economy Nerses Yeritsian noted that at the beginning of the year Armenian president, through mailing with chief executive director of “Millennium Challenges” corporation John Danilovich, has appointed himself as responsible for working out and presenting events of improvement of indicators which worsened in the conditions of transition of Armenia’s status from law income to medium income countries. “In case of transition from low to high, Armenia is already compared with group of states which have higher income and system of government, in the raw of which Armenia had problems with six indicators. Armenia appeared in a higher group in the respect of development only with the share of income for a person,” N. Yeritsian clarified. From February different discussions have been carried out with Armenia’s representation of “Millennium Challenges” program. Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsian noted that the document is an urgent one and asked all the ministries to discuss the events and within two days present comments and suggestions to the staff of the Armenian government. They will be summed up within a week and the approved document will be sent to the corporation in Washington by November. “There are serious events and we assume commitments for their implementation. Armenia must by November send the schedule of the carried out events,” he said.
