SERGEY LEBEDEV: “DOORS OF CIS REMAIN OPEN FOR GEORGIA”

SOCHI, OCTOBER 23, ARMENPRESS:CIS Executive Secretary Sergey Lebedev delivered speech today during the session of council of CIS Home Ministers and stated that Georgia’s withdrawal from CIS must not be regarded as a blow to the organization. Deputy head of CIS Executive Committee Nauriz Aydarov had formerly informed that Georgia will be excluded from CIS on August 18, 2009 as the withdrawal from the organization officially takes place a year after the application is presented by the country. Sergey Lebedev also noted that the majority regrets Georgia’s withdrawal from CIS, but “the doors remain open for Georgia”.
