ARMENIAN TAXMEN REVEAL NEARLY 10 BILLION DRAMS OF UNPAID TAXES

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 26, ARMENPRESS:Armenian tax officers conducted 15,500 inspections in the first nine months of the year revealing nearly 10 billion Drams of unpaid taxes. Artashes Beibutian, head of supervision department of the state taxation service, said the focus was on so-called ‘vulnerable and risky’ sectors, which were pointed out by the resident of the country earlier this year during a meeting with senior taxmen. Beibutian said each inspection this year revealed on average around 436,000 Drams of unpaid taxes. Last year each such inspection revealed only 164,000 Drams of avoided taxes.
