A meeting between the Republic of Armenia’s Commission on State Border Demarcation and Delimitation and Georgia’s Government Commission on State Border Delimitation and Demarcation took place on November 6, co-chaired by Armenia’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Vahan Kostanyan and Georgia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Lasha Darsalia.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade said the sides welcomed the resumption of the commissions’ work and stressed the importance of the state border delimitation process in further strengthening good-neighbourly relations between Armenia and Georgia.

“Both sides expressed an interest in bringing the process to completion through continued dialogue and in a constructive spirit. During the meeting, the sides also exchanged views on the legal framework, including previously agreed protocols and possible additional steps to further facilitate the smooth progress of the process.

“The sides also discussed issues concerning the continuation of the delimitation process and the commissions’ future work,” the ministry said.
