Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan chaired a meeting to discuss issues and proposals concerning the rethinking of taxation systems.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office, Finance Minister Vahe Hovhannisyan stressed that the policy objectives underpinning the rethinking of taxation systems form the pillars of the Government’s fiscal policy. Their central aims are to ensure a fair and equitable distribution of the tax burden, proper documentation of economic activity and transparency.

Hovhannisyan said the proposed changes were intended to ensure an effective balance between taxation systems. In this context, it was emphasised that the changes aim to promote small business development by reducing the administrative burden and ensuring tax fairness and equal conditions for competition.

Participants discussed taxation systems and transaction arrangements, the policy objectives underpinning the rethinking of taxation systems, and the introduction of clear criteria for tax compliance and determining whether parties are related.

Prime Minister Pashinyan stressed the importance of implementing revenue policies that support sustainable economic growth and improving the efficiency of tax administration. He instructed officials to continue work consistently in these areas.
