Armenia to build customs, logistics centers in Yerevan and Syunik in line with LEED standards

The State Revenue Committee of Armenia (SRC) is implementing a program to construct customs and logistics centers in Yerevan and Syunik, under which the new infrastructure is planned to comply with international green building standards and obtain Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification.
The State Revenue Committee said in a press release that for the implementation of the planned work, the SRC has engaged a specialized international consultant, the joint venture CES Clean Energy Solutions GesmbH / iC consulenten LLC, which will provide technical assistance in incorporating the requirements of the LEED green building certification system and obtaining the relevant certifications.
A contract has been signed between the State Revenue Committee and the CES Clean Energy Solutions GesmbH / iC consulenten LLC joint venture, under which the consultant will be involved throughout the implementation of the projects, ensuring the consistent application of LEED requirements.
As part of the work, the design solutions will be assessed and, where necessary, improved, taking into account requirements related to energy efficiency, efficient use of water resources, the use of renewable energy, provision of natural lighting and indoor environmental quality, efficient use of construction materials and resources, waste management, and reducing the environmental impact.
The customs and logistics centers in Yerevan and Syunik are planned to obtain at least LEED Silver certification or a higher level of certification. The consultant will support the alignment of design and construction solutions with LEED standards, as well as the preparation and submission of the documents required for the certification process.
The implementation of the program is intended to create modern, energy-efficient and environmentally responsible customs and logistics infrastructure in line with international green building standards.
During a visit by representatives of the international consultant to the SRC, working meetings and professional discussions were held. At the same time, a visit to the site designated for the construction of the Yerevan customs and logistics center is also planned, with the aim of conducting a preliminary assessment of the possibilities for applying LEED requirements.
