Armenia-U.S. bilateral defense consultations were held at the Armenian Ministry of Defense headquarters in Yerevan, at the conclusion of which the parties signed a protocol on the work carried out and agreements reached.
The ministry said in a press release that the consultations were attended by representatives of the Armenian Ministry of Defense, U.S. Brig. Gen. Paul Schneider, Adjutant General of the Kansas National Guard, as well as representatives of various agencies of the U.S. Department of War.
During the consultations, the programs implemented in recent years within the framework of defense cooperation between Armenia and the United States were summarized. The parties also examined the potential for further developing cooperation in all areas of interaction.
Summarizing the results of the consultations, Armenian Armed Forces Deputy Chief of the General Staff Major General Artur Yeroyan emphasized that cooperation in all the aforementioned areas is being carried out within the framework of the transformation process of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia.
Andrew Loomis, Deputy Assistant Secretary of War, noted that the United States will continue to support the defense reforms being implemented in Armenia.
“The United States will continue to support the ongoing defense reforms in Armenia, contributing its full capacity of advisory, experience-sharing, and other support programs to the army transformation processes being carried out within this framework,” Loomis said.
