A meeting chaired by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan was held at the Government to discuss the draft 2027 state budget and the fiscal framework.
According to a statement issued by the Office of the Prime Minister, Finance Minister Vahe Hovhannisyan presented the main macroeconomic and fiscal indicators and frameworks for 2027–2029. Details were also presented on sectoral spending and strategically important areas of expenditure. The discussion also covered the Armenian Government’s priorities and fiscal policy forecasts.
Participants exchanged views on the draft 2027 state budget and presented various proposals and observations.
Pashinyan stressed the need for the effective implementation of programmes and measures envisaged under the budget. The Prime Minister noted that the revenue side of the budget is the result of the work of all bodies within the public administration system, and that the efficiency of expenditure determines revenue growth and economic activity.
In this context, Pashinyan stressed that economic development and reducing the shadow economy should be at the centre of attention of all members of the Government.
