Armenian tennis player Elina Avanesyan has opened her campaign at the SP Open WTA 250 tournament in São Paulo, Brazil, with a victory.
Avanesyan faced Argentina’s Julia Riera in the opening round and won in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4, in a match that lasted about 1.5 hours.
Avanesyan is currently ranked 155th in the WTA rankings.
