Economy Minister, Emirati logistics company discuss Armenia’s role as regional logistics hub

Armenia’s Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan met with Essa Kazim, Chairman of the Board of Directors of DP World, a Dubai-based global trade and logistics company engaged in port management, freight transportation, warehousing and logistics services.

The meeting, which took place in Dubai as part of Papoyan’s visit for the AIM Congress, was also attended by Enterprise Armenia CEO Gohar Abajyan.

According to the ministry readout, the sides discussed the possibility of establishing long-term business cooperation with DP World, with particular focus on strengthening Armenia’s position as a regional logistics and trade hub.

The meeting also addressed DP World’s possible involvement in the Gyumri dry port project, as well as prospects for developing modern warehousing and multimodal logistics infrastructure in Armenia.

In this context, the minister emphasized that Armenia’s geographic location, the TRIPP program and the Crossroads of Peace initiative create new opportunities for international logistics companies.

The sides emphasized the importance of establishing cooperation aimed at effectively utilizing Armenia’s transit and logistics potential and expanding international trade links.
