U.S. Chargé d’Affaires in Armenia David Allen visited Azerbaijan for talks, according to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.
The Azerbaijani APA news agency, citing a readout from the ministry, said that Allen met with Elnur Mammadov, the country’s Deputy Foreign Minister.
U.S. Chargé d’Affaires in Azerbaijan Amy Carlon also attended the meeting.
The report said the discussion focused on the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace process and the implementation of the TRIPP project.
The sides discussed ensuring long-term and sustainable peace, as well as steps taken to strengthen stability and security in the region. The officials discussed ongoing efforts to implement the “Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity” (TRIPP), as well as the establishment of the TRIPP Development Company, which will oversee the construction of infrastructure related to the route.
The Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) is a connectivity project in southern Armenia, envisaged under the U.S.-brokered Armenian-Azerbaijani joint declaration signed in Washington, D.C. The project is expected to unlock strategic economic opportunities, create long-term benefits by promoting infrastructure investment, and enhance regional connectivity. An Armenian-American joint enterprise is engaged in developing the route.
