Armenian NPP back on power grid after maintenance

Unit 2 of the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant was restarted and reconnected to the country’s power grid on September 1 after the successful completion of the 2026 scheduled maintenance work.

Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Davit Khudatyan announced the restart, saying that during the maintenance, around 20 important measures were implemented aimed at increasing the reliability, safety and efficiency of the power unit’s operation.

The planned maintenance work lasted 153 days, in accordance with the schedule, the minister said.

The power unit is currently operating normally, with its output being gradually increased in accordance with the established technological requirements, he said.
