Prime Minister and President meet Foreign Ministry leadership and heads of diplomatic missions abroad

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan held a meeting with the leadership of the Armenian Foreign Ministry and participants in the annual workshop of heads of Armenia’s diplomatic missions abroad.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the meeting was also attended by National Assembly Speaker Ruben Rubinyan, Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan, Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister’s Office Lilit Makunts, Secretary of the Security Council Alen Simonyan, Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, and other representatives of the legislative and executive branches.
The Prime Minister delivered remarks and highlighted the decision to change the name of the foreign policy ministry, under which it will be renamed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade. The Prime Minister noted that various countries around the world have similar experience and that the main purpose is to give tangible expression to the economic component and economic function in international relations.
In his remarks, Nikol Pashinyan addressed the balanced and balancing foreign policy pursued by the Armenian Government, the fundamental directions of foreign policy, steps aimed at diversifying the economy, the country’s priorities in international relations and upcoming programmes.
The Prime Minister’s remarks were followed by discussions on current foreign policy agenda issues.
