Armenian producers eye China as new export market

Amid restrictions on the export of Armenian goods to the Russian market, Armenian producers are actively seeking new and stable markets for their products.

China is becoming one of the most promising destinations for Armenian exports.

The China-Armenia Regional Development Foundation, together with Prom Expo and its subsidiary operating in China, the Armenian Trade House, has created the necessary conditions for the export and sale of Armenian-made products. A logistics and organizational infrastructure has been established, and mechanisms have been developed for the supply, storage, and promotion of goods in the Chinese market.

Sergey Avanesov, the foundation’s president and executive director, told Armenpress that the organization of a trade fair for Armenian products in Chengdu in November this year is of particular importance as part of this initiative.

“It will enable producers to present their products directly to Chinese buyers, businesspeople, and distributors, as well as establish new business contacts,” Avanesov noted.

In parallel, the foundation, together with Tsayg TV, is developing the large-scale Vardan Mamikonyan media platform. A cultural and historical magazine in Chinese and a special video produced by Tsayg TV have already been prepared. In the future, a large-scale media program is planned, which will include a series of documentaries on the historical and contemporary ties between Armenia and China, as well as the economic cooperation between the two countries.

The combination of the practical export mechanisms created by the foundation, Prom Expo, and the Armenian Trade House with Tsayg TV’s coordinated informational support provides a comprehensive set of tools for promoting Armenian products and strengthening Armenian-Chinese relations.

“In the current global geo-economic environment, this initiative creates real opportunities for Armenian producers to enter one of the world’s largest consumer markets,” the parties involved said.
