Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said his administration is discussing candidates for the position of special envoy for normalization talks with Türkiye.

Ruben Rubinyan, the outgoing Deputy Speaker of Parliament and Armenia’s Special Representative for Normalization Talks with Türkiye, has been nominated by the ruling party to serve as Speaker of Parliament in the next parliamentary term.

Armenpress asked Pashinyan at a press briefing whether his administration had decided whom to appoint as the new envoy.

“There is no decision yet regarding the special envoy. Through the format of communication with Türkiye, we need to decide how we will continue the process, what approach and format we will follow, in order to make the relevant decisions. Discussions on this matter are currently underway,” Pashinyan said.
