Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Robert Abisoghomonyan met with UN Under-Secretary-General for Political and Peacebuilding Affairs Rosemary DiCarlo on the sidelines of the UN High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development.
According to the Armenian Foreign Ministry, Abisoghomonyan presented Armenia's efforts aimed at further consolidating peace in the South Caucasus. The two sides underscored the importance of implementing projects to develop transport infrastructure and enhance regional connectivity as a means of unlocking the region's full potential.
The interlocutors also discussed the UN80 reform process. In this context, the Armenian deputy foreign minister emphasized the importance of ensuring the continued effective functioning of UN bodies in the areas of development cooperation, human rights protection and prevention.
According to the ministry, the two sides also discussed preparations for the 17th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17), which Armenia will host in October.
The interlocutors also exchanged views on issues related to international security.
