Yerevan Zoo welcomes new residents

Visitors to the Yerevan Zoo can now see two unique representatives of the wild cat family-Pallas's cats named Mano and Nano.

According to the zoo, the Pallas's cat is also of particular significance to Armenia's wildlife.

"The species was once found in Armenia as well. However, for a long time no new records of its presence were documented, and it was considered extinct in the country. Research is currently underway to determine whether the species is still present in Armenia and to document any new sightings," the zoo said in a statement.

Mano and Nano belong to the rufous Pallas's cat subspecies and are currently on display exclusively at the Yerevan Zoo.
