Constitutional Court to hold single hearing on seven challenges to election results on June 26

Armenia's Constitutional Court will hold a single hearing on June 26 to consider challenges filed by seven political parties and alliances seeking to annul the results of the country's June 7 parliamentary election, the court said on Monday.

Justice Edgar Shatiryan has been appointed as the rapporteur in the case.

The motions to annul the results, citing alleged fraud, were filed by the Strong Armenia bloc, Wings of Unity party, Democracy, Law and Order party, Prosperous Armenia party, the Alliance of Defenders of the Republic’s Democracy, the Armenia Alliance, and the New Power Reformist Party.

“Given that the cases concern the same issue, and in accordance with Article 41 of the Constitutional Law on the Constitutional Court, the cases have been consolidated and will be heard at a single court session scheduled for June 26, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. Constitutional Court Justice Edgar Shatiryan has been appointed rapporteur in the case, and the consolidated case will be examined through an oral procedure,” the Constitutional Court said.

Only three political forces entered parliament, according to the Central Electoral Commission’s final results.

According to the commission, the Civil Contract party won 49.7% of the vote, securing a majority in the next parliament, while the Strong Armenia bloc came in second with 23.2%. The Armenia Alliance won 9.9%.

The ruling Civil Contract party, led by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, will hold 64 seats, while businessman Samvel Karapetyan’s Strong Armenia bloc will have 29 seats. The Armenia Alliance, led by former President Robert Kocharyan, will hold 12 seats.
