Belgian FM Prévot congratulates Armenia on “strong democratic participation”

Belgium’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Affairs and Development Cooperation Maxime Prévot has congratulated Armenia on its “strong democratic participation” in the parliamentary elections.

In a post on X addressed to Armenian FM Ararat Mirzoyan, Prévot said he looks forward to strengthening the partnership.

“Congratulations to the people of Armenia for their strong democratic participation. Despite pressure and interference, they reaffirmed their commitment to democracy, peace and closer ties with Europe. We hope this new mandate will contribute to peace, stability, and prosperity in the region. I look forward to further strengthening our partnership with Armenia and working together for a peaceful future,” the Belgian FM said.

Preliminary vote count results showed that the Civil Contract party will retain its majority in parliament with 727,160 votes, or 49.825%.
