Armenia’s First Deputy Minister of High-Tech Industry, Gevorg Mantashyan, participated May 28 in a panel discussion on the responsible use of AI within the framework of Eurasian economic integration, held during the 5th Eurasian Economic Forum in Astana, Kazakhstan.
The discussion focused on the role of artificial intelligence as a key driver of digital integration, economic modernization and innovation-driven growth within the common market of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), the ministry said.
It was attended by senior officials from EAEU member states, as well as representatives of international organizations and industry groups.
Participants discussed priorities for AI development, effective data governance mechanisms, the establishment of common standards and the need for secure and reliable digital solutions.
Special attention was given to the responsible and human-centered use of AI, cybersecurity and the development of cooperation based on international best practices.
In remarks published by the ministry, Mantashyan said the development of artificial intelligence and digital technologies requires not only the introduction of advanced solutions, but also responsible governance and long-term strategic approaches.
“Digital transformation is not only about introducing new technologies, but also about the responsibility to ensure their safe, effective and reliable application. The development of artificial intelligence must be based on the principles of trust, transparency, professional capacity building, human-centered approaches and international cooperation,” Mantashyan said.
He also emphasized the importance of exchanging experience and strengthening professional cooperation among EAEU member states. He noted that artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies can play a significant role in increasing industrial competitiveness, improving the efficiency of public services and developing innovative ecosystems.
The deputy minister added that Armenia continues to strengthen its technological and innovation potential, highlighting the importance of education, professional training and international partnerships in building a reliable and competitive AI ecosystem in the region.
