Economic cooperation between Armenia and Georgia is deepening and expanding, building on long-established traditions, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has said.
“It is no secret that for Armenian tourists, Georgia has been, is, and continues to remain one of the most beloved destinations. We are pleased to see that visits from Armenia to Georgia are increasing, and at the same time, we are glad to see that visits from Georgia to Armenia are also growing. This is also a very important reflection of our active political cooperation. We cooperate in the fields of culture, sports, education, science, and the economy,” the Prime Minister said after the 15th session of the Armenia-Georgia Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation held in Georgia, which he co-chaired with Georgian PM Irakli Kobakhidze.
“Our understanding is strengthening that the key objective of political agendas is to deliver economic results and development. I consider it very important to emphasize that we discussed numerous issues related to the economic, bilateral, regional, and international agendas, also to identify where we have greater potential for cooperation,” Nikol Pashinyan said.
According to him, political dialogue between Armenia and Georgia has been, remains, and continues to be very active; the same can be said about economic cooperation. In the Armenian Prime Minister’s assessment, it is important to understand in which areas the sides can cooperate to manage challenges more effectively and make better use of opportunities.
“Of course, at such meetings it is by no means of secondary importance to see our friends, ask how they are, and enjoy the pleasure of spending time with them. Once again, I would like to thank you for the atmosphere and the warm reception. After each of these meetings, the first thing we think about is when the next meeting will take place. I hope and am confident that as a result of our next meeting, we will be able to state that, thanks to our agreements, Armenia-Georgia cooperation at the bilateral, regional, and international levels has become more active and more effective,” Prime Minister Pashinyan emphasized.
