“Armenia, a Must-Visit Destination” event held in Uruguay

An event titled “Armenia, a Must-Visit Destination” was held at the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in Uruguay, during which Hiperviajes, one of the country’s largest travel agencies, announced the inclusion of Armenia as a new tourist destination in its travel offers, the Armenian Embassy in Uruguay said in a statement.

Speaking at the event, Armenia’s Ambassador to Uruguay, Mariam Gevorgyan, referred to the progress recorded in Armenia’s tourism sector, the government’s strategy and reforms, as well as the rich cultural heritage, natural attractions and diverse tourism opportunities.

The Ambassador noted that Armenia, as a country with significant historical and cultural heritage, a safe environment and developed infrastructure, is attracting growing interest among international tourists, presenting tourism statistics from recent years.

Speeches were also delivered by Hiperviajes CEO Fernando Riva, Corporate Director Andrea Bellolio, and Sales Manager Eugenia Calvette, who presented travel opportunities to Armenia, proposed routes and year-round tourism packages.

The event was attended by representatives of Uruguay’s Ministry of Tourism, the Association of Travel Agencies, more than two dozen tourism companies, media representatives, as well as Senator and former Minister of Tourism Liliam Kechichian.

The event concluded with a reception featuring Armenian cuisine.
