The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) Armenia Programme for 2026–2030 was adopted in Rome on February 25, 2026.

The programme will mark a new stage of cooperation between Armenia and the WFP over the next five years, particularly in strengthening food security in Armenia, addressing the humanitarian needs of vulnerable groups, and developing the capacity of the Government of Armenia to enhance resilience to emergencies, according to a press release issued by the Armenian Embassy in Italy.

Permanent Representative of the Republic of Armenia Vladimir Karapetyan delivered a speech at the meeting, touching upon the main directions of the country’s programme document aimed at sustainable development and ensuring a joint response aimed at the future.

In this context, it was emphasized that the document is fully consistent with the policies and strategies of the Government of the Republic of Armenia, as well as with the priorities of Armenia’s UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework.
