Armenian defense firms receive export licenses

Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan said on Monday that the government granted export licenses to some Armenian defense companies last year.

The minister did not specify which particular military products are being exported from Armenia, noting that this information is classified.

According to him, thanks to a series of legislative changes and sectoral reforms, the range of state support tools available to local defense industry companies has expanded.

In particular, a procedure has been developed to finance the creation of prototypes necessary for conducting state tests, fully systematizing all actions required to carry out such complex processes.

“This is a new set of tools to financially assist our companies in navigating the complex and costly process of state testing,” the minister explained at a press briefing.
