Armenian Ambassador to Belgium Tigran Balayan met with Ms. Els Van Hoof, Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Belgian Chamber of Representatives and Head of the Belgium-Armenia Friendship Group.
The meeting focused on upcoming high-level visits planned within the framework of the expanding Armenia-Belgium relations, as well as ways to further enhance bilateral cooperation, the embassy said in a readout.
Ambassador Balayan presented the outcomes of the Washington agreements, highlighting the key results of the recent visit of U.S. Vice President JD Vance to Armenia. In this context, he emphasized the efforts of the Government of the Republic of Armenia aimed at achieving lasting peace, particularly underscoring the potential of the Crossroads of Peace infrastructure initiative.
The Ambassador also reiterated the urgent need for the return of Armenian hostages unlawfully held in Baku, stressing its importance in the context of strengthening peace.
Ambassador Balayan expressed his appreciation for the unconditional support of Belgian parliamentarians and their continued principled engagement on issues concerning Armenia.
