Armenian Minister of High-Tech Industry, Indian Chief of Defense Staff discuss cooperation

The Minister of High-Tech Industry of the Republic of Armenia received a delegation led by the Chief of the Defence Staff of the Indian Armed Forces, General Anil Chauhan, who arrived in Armenia on an official visit on February 4, the ministry said in a press release.

The meeting was attended by Chairman of the Military-Industrial Committee of the Ministry of High-Tech Industry Aram Jivanyan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to Armenia Nilakshi Saha Sinha, as well as other officials.

Welcoming the delegation, Minister Mkhitar Hayrapetyan highly appreciated the development of Armenia–India cooperation in the fields of high technology and defence. He underscored the importance of strengthening the already established friendly and trusting partnership and further expanding joint initiatives.

The parties also discussed ongoing cooperation and joint projects in the military-industrial sector, as well as prospects for launching new joint initiatives in scientific research and experimental development.

In turn, General Chauhan presented the Indian government’s policies and ongoing reforms in the high-tech and defence sectors, including innovative and startup initiatives, and reaffirmed India’s readiness to deepen cooperation with Armenia in these areas.

Summing up the meeting, the sides reached agreements on advancing bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
