Pashinyan, Aliyev meet in Abu Dhabi

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan held a meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday, where they arrived to accept the 2026 Zayed Award for Human Fraternity.

Both leaders have been named 2026 honorees of the Zayed Award.

The Prize Committee praised the Agreement on the Establishment of Peace and Inter-State Relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan, which was initialed in August 2025, describing it as a process of peace, dialogue, normalization of relations, and conflict resolution undertaken by the two states, and underscoring that reconciliation is not a single act but a sustained journey.

Prime Minister Pashinyan has been named a recipient of the 2026 Zayed Award for Human Fraternity in recognition of his consistent efforts to advance the agenda of establishing peace between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as promoting regional cooperation and stability. The awarding of the same honor to Azerbaijani President Aliyev underscores the joint efforts to advance peace.
