Armenian and Indian top generals discuss defense cooperation

Chief of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces and First Deputy Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Edward Asryan, held a meeting with Chief of the Defense Staff of the Indian Armed Forces, General Anil Chauhan, followed by an expanded meeting of delegations.

During the meeting, the current course of cooperation between Armenia and India in the field of defense was discussed, and the activities carried out within the framework of the Bilateral Cooperation Plan were reviewed, according to the Defense Ministry readout.

The parties also discussed a number of issues related to the effective implementation of the activities planned for 2026. The importance of holding events in the fields of education, professional training, exercises and drills, and the exchange of experience in various areas in Armenia and India was noted.

Lieutenant General Edward Asryan presented the directions of the transformation of the Armenian Armed Forces, emphasizing the importance of Armenia–India defense cooperation in this process.

General Anil Chauhan, currently on an official visit to Armenia, was earlier received by Minister of Defense Suren Papikyan.
