Foreign Minister Mirzoyan meets with European Court of Human Rights President

Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan met with Mattias Guyomar, President of the European Court of Human Rights, in Strasbourg, the foreign ministry said in a readout.

The parties exchanged views on cooperation between Armenia and the Court, the rule of law, and the promotion of independent justice. Both sides praised Armenia's active engagement with the Court at various levels.

The discussion also touched upon the implementation of ECHR judgments. Mirzoyan pointed to Armenia's strong record in implementing the Court's decisions and closing supervision procedures, underscoring the country's commitment to continued reforms in the areas of democratic principles and human rights protection.

He stressed that Armenia supports the Court through adherence to the principles and values underlying its work and highly values cooperation with the ECHR in advancing the democratic agenda for the benefit of Armenian citizens.
