Armenian, German foreign ministries hold political consultations

Political consultations were held in Berlin on January 15 under the leadership of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Vahan Kostanyan and Niklas Wagner, Commissioner for Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia at the German Federal Foreign Office.

According to a readout by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, the parties discussed a broad range of issues on the bilateral agenda, noting the high level of relations and the active political dialogue between Armenia and Germany.

The sides exchanged views on joint steps to expand mutually beneficial cooperation in areas outlined in the Declaration on the Strategic Agenda for Bilateral Partnership, signed on December 9, 2025, by the Prime Minister of Armenia and the Federal Chancellor of Germany.

The consultations also addressed issues related to the agenda of the Armenia–European Union strategic partnership. The parties emphasized active cooperation on international platforms.

Deputy Minister Kostanyan presented regional opportunities expected from the implementation of programs aimed at developing economic interconnectivity under conditions of peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan following the Washington Agreements of August 8, 2025, including the TRIPP Route project.
