Armenia extradites two Syrian citizens sentenced to life imprisonment

Armenia has extradited two Syrian citizens who were sentenced to life imprisonment, the Ministry of Justice announced.
“Yousef Alaabet al-Hajji and Muharrab Muhammad al-Shkheri, citizens of the Syrian Arab Republic who were sentenced to life imprisonment in the Republic of Armenia, were transferred on January 14, 2026, to the competent authorities of the Syrian Arab Republic via the Republic of Turkey, in order to continue the enforcement of their sentences in their country of citizenship. The transfer was carried out under cooperation between the respective competent authorities and in accordance with the applicable legal mechanisms,” the Ministry of Justice said in a press release.
