Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan hailed on Wednesday the TRIPP Implementation Framework approved by Armenia and the United States, saying it paves the way for establishing long-term and sustainable peace in the region.
The TRIPP Implementation Framework was published after Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio met in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday.
Speaking at the AIISA Security Forum titled Armenia and Peace: At the Intersection of Risks and Opportunities, Pashinyan said that the document provides answers to all questions about the connectivity project.
“It is clear that the open questions related to the TRIPP project, which existed after the adoption of the Washington declaration on August 8, are now receiving answers. It is very important that we have a formula that fully satisfies—and should satisfy—Armenia, naturally fully satisfies the United States, and, in my opinion, also Azerbaijan. Of course, they will respond—we will see—and essentially, this paves the way for establishing long-term and sustainable peace in the region,” emphasized the Prime Minister of Armenia.
Pashinyan emphasized the role of all of Armenia’s partners in implementing this project, particularly highlighting the role of U.S. President Donald Trump, whose personal interest and involvement, according to the Prime Minister, has been decisive.
“Now we need to think about the next steps. It is clear that large investments and significant funds will flow into our region, which is very good news. It is also clear what level of involvement the United States will have. I believe we should also discuss in detail the formats and specific projects for EU involvement with our partners in the European Union, which we are very interested in,” the Prime Minister of Armenia stressed.
