Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan met with Eleveight AI Founder and CEO Arman Aleksanyan. First Deputy Minister of High-Tech Industry Gevorg Mantashyan and Deputy Minister Ruben Simonyan, as well as Eleveight AI Chief Business Development Officer Davit Arakelyan, also participated in the meeting.
The discussions focused on the ongoing and planned programs in the field of artificial intelligence in Armenia, the possibilities for developing high-performance computing infrastructure, and the prospects for establishing AI data centers, the ministry said in a press release.
Mkhitar Hayrapetyan presented the ministry’s priorities in the field of artificial intelligence, emphasizing the key directions of state policy, in particular the development of sovereign computing capacities, the expansion of local AI infrastructure, and the reduction of external technological dependence. In his remarks, the minister highlighted the importance of applying AI solutions in both the public and private sectors as a driver of digital economic development.
Arman Aleksanyan, in turn, emphasized the strategic importance of establishing a next-generation artificial intelligence data processing center in Armenia. According to him, the implementation of the project became possible thanks to an export license for state-of-the-art graphics processors granted by the United States, which is an achievement not only for the company but also for Armenia as a whole.
During the discussion, attention was also given to the development prospects of AI-as-a-Service, GPU-as-a-Service, and cloud services being developed by Eleveight AI, particularly approaches involving the use of energy-efficient infrastructure based on renewable energy sources.
Summing up the meeting, both sides underscored the importance of maintaining ongoing dialogue on issues of mutual interest and expressed readiness to expand discussions toward developing concrete formats for cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence.
