Bulgaria’s new Ambassador presents credentials to Armenian president

Bulgaria’s new Ambassador to Armenia, Nikola Nikolov, presented his credentials to President Vahagn Khachaturyan.
President Khachaturyan congratulated the ambassador and wished him productive work for the further development of Armenia-Bulgaria relations, the President’s Office said in a press release.
The President of Armenia noted that Armenia highly values the historically close relations with Bulgaria, which are based on friendship and mutual trust between the two peoples.
The Ambassador expressed gratitude for the warm reception and conveyed the warm greetings of the President of Bulgaria, Rumen Radev. He noted that he is confident that the level of Armenian-Bulgarian bilateral relations can be significantly enhanced through deeper cooperation in areas of mutual interest and the full realization of existing potential.
During the meeting, the possibilities for strengthening relations between the two countries were discussed. The sides emphasized the importance of effective and coordinated cooperation both in the bilateral format and within the framework of the European Union.
During the conversation, the importance of restoring direct flights was highlighted as a means of intensifying cooperation, emphasizing their role in promoting economic, tourism, and humanitarian ties.
High-level mutual visits were also underscored as an effective tool for deepening political dialogue and shaping new directions of cooperation. In this context, reference was made to major international events to be hosted by Armenia in 2026, in particular the European Political Community Summit and the UN COP-17 Conference, highlighting their significance in terms of advancing international cooperation and joint agendas.
