Armenian, UK security officials discuss advancing cooperation, strategic partnership

Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia, Armen Grigoryan, met in London with UK National Security Advisor Jonathan Powell.

The officials highly appreciated the dynamic development of bilateral relations between Armenia and the United Kingdom and reaffirmed their mutual willingness to elevate them to the level of strategic partnership, according to a readout from Secretary Grigoryan’s office.

Armen Grigoryan and Jonathan Powell addressed a number of important issues on the agenda, outlining ways for further cooperation.

The British side welcomed the recent agreements between Armenia and Azerbaijan reached in Washington, emphasizing that they are important steps toward the full normalization of relations between the two countries.

The Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia highlighted the importance of institutionalizing the peace established in the region.

During the meeting, the sides also exchanged views on current regional and international issues.
