The latest monitoring data shows a relative improvement in air quality in Yerevan, a city official said Monday.

In November, the air quality was in the moderate and unhealthy-for-sensitive-groups range, according to Sirarpi Haykazyan, the caretaker director of the Environmental Department at Yerevan City Hall.

Data from 184 air monitoring stations installed at construction sites in Yerevan show that the average air quality index (AQI) in November 2025 was 142 for PM2.5 and 64 for PM10. These values fall within the moderate and unhealthy-for-sensitive-groups range.

However, for the last ten days of November, the AQI for PM2.5 peaked at 180, placing it in the unhealthy range.

"During the same period in 2024, PM2.5 was 101 and PM10 was 53. From November 20 to 30, 2025, the average AQI for PM2.5 reached 180. This was the period when a sharp deterioration in air quality was observed. However, analysis of data from the stations at the end of last week shows that the indicator values are relatively decreasing," the city official said at a Yerevan City Hall executive meeting.
